One watchman was killed Thursday night when Arab infiltrators attacked a house under construction in Jerusalem’s northwestern outskirts. The Arabs opened up a round of concentrated automatic fire on two Israel watchmen, one of whom was killed instantly. The other, who was unhurt, returned the attackers’ fire.
An Israel Army spokesman said that this was not an isolated incident, since a similar attack occurred a week ago in the Jerusalem hills, when two Israel soldiers were killed. “It is clear that the attacks were carried out by well-organized and trained bands, whose sole aim is to kill and to sabotage,” the spokesman said.
