Two major French tourist services–the Club Mediterranee and the Touring Club Francais–were notified by the Arab League’s Boycott Office at Beirut today that they have been placed on the Arab Blacklist due to their “dealings” with Israel. Between them, the two organizations serve hundreds of thousands of French tourists.
Club Mediterranee operates a vacation village at Ahziv, in Israel; owns another such village at Al Holeimo, in Morocco; and has been planning to open a third village of that type in Lebanon. The Arab boycott office notified the club that it will not be allowed to open the projected vacation resort in Lebanon.
