Six Arab nations last night filed a formal protest with the United Nations against alleged Israeli sale of private property of Palestine Arab refugees.
In a memorandum to Secretary General Trygve Lie. Egypt. Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Yemen charged that the sales on the open market had brought in millions of pounds which were being used to finance the immigration and settlement of Jewish refugees in Israel. The Arab memorandum asked intervention by the Palestine Conciliation Commission to halt the alleged sales, which were termed violations of the institution of private property, of the UN Charter and of the truce agreements.
