A decision to express sympathy with the Druze rebellion against the French in Syria was taken by the Palestine Arab Executive, the organization opposing the Zionist policy of the British administration.

The Executive decided to arrange a solemn memorial service on Friday to honor Lieutenant Fuad Salim, who joined the Druzes and fell at the Syrian front.
