A threat to use “violence to regulate the situation in Palestine” was made to the Mandates Commission of the League of Nations in a petition signed by Arab leaders, the report of the Mandates Commission, made public today, revealed.
The petition originated in Paris and was signed by Arabs and Syrians, the report revealed. Although the Mandates Commission took no action on the threat, it did call attention of the Council of the League to the “state of mind revealed by the Arab petition.”
The Mandates group also examined four petitions concerning Palestine submitted by as many Jewish groups. However, no special recommendations were made to the League Council as to the petitions.
