The Israel police authorities today took measures to prevent disorders in the all-Arab city of Nazareth as a result of clashes that took place between Communist Arabs there and those favoring the policy of Col. Nasser, president of the United Arab Republic who charges Moscow with interfering into internal affairs of the Arab countries.
The measures taken today by the Israeli authorities included the ban of a Communist member of the Israel Parliament, Emile Habibi, who wanted to visit Nazareth where Arab youths raided the distribution center of the Communist Arab newspaper “Al Itihad,” confiscated copies of the newspaper, and burned the papers in a public bonfire. Other clashes between pro-Communist and pro-Nasser Arabs have taken place in other parts of Israel.
