The lighting of candles at the Wailing Wall by worshippers was not permitted yesterday afternoon, it was learned when 20 young Arabs, headed by a sheik, threw down the tapers that the worshippers had lighted. An Arab policeman to whom the worshippers complained. replied that the candles were prohibited, says the “Doar Hayom” in reporting the incident.
