Armed Arab bands last night raided two Israeli settlements in the Jerusalem corridor area, using hand grenades and automatic rifle fire. Jewish guards repulsed the attackers. There were no casualties among the defenders.
Observers here believe that recent attacks have been organized by s are central Arab organization with considerable resources in money and weapons. The main purpose of the attacks of late seem to be to kill people and destroy property. Often the raiders withdraw without looting homes and settlement instaliations.
The same Israeli observers believe that Israel will be compelled to institute more stringent measures to secure its borders and permit the continuation of a normal life in the frontier settlements.
