Archbishop Guri, who was reported to have been the host of the students who arranged the anti-Jewish excesses in this city, has denied this report.
In a communication to Rabbi Zirelsohn, the aged leader of Bessarabian Jewry, who recently resigned from the Roumanian Senate as a protest against the anti-Semitic excesses, the Archbishop states that he did not invite the students to Kishineff and will issue an official denial to that effect. The Archbishop also promised to intervene with the authorities in order to prevent the circulation of anti-Jewish leaflets in the city.
