The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Rufino Santos, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Manila, arrived here today with a group of 81 pilgrims from the Philippine Islands for a four-day tour of Christian holy shrines in Israel.
Entering the city from the Jordanian side at the Mandelbaum Gate, the Catholic dignitary and his followers were greeted by officials of the Israel Ministry of Religion and by heads of the Israel tourist department. The Catholic group had spent four days visiting Christian shrines in the Old City of Jerusalem, and in Bethlehem, on the Jordanian side.
