The printing plant of the important Catholic daily newspaper, “El Pueblo,” was ordered closed here by the authorities because it printed the anti-Semitic newspaper, “Fortaleza,” which has been banned.
Publication of “Fortaleza” was declared illegal after the paper criticized the Peron administration, charging the government with displaying pro-Jewish sentiments. “Fortaleza” is the organ of the anti-Semitic group, Alianza Libertadora Nacionalista, the outlawing of which has been repeatedly urged by Jewish leaders here.
