The Argentine Christian Pro-Palestine Committee today cabled the United Nations General Assembly urging that it adopt the recommendations contained in the majority report of the U.N. Special Committee on Palestine.
Although the Argentine press in general has not commented on the UNSCOP report, the Peronist El Diario, which recently assumed an anti-Zionist line, supports the Arab position as “entirely just” and asks that the fate of Palestine be decided by its present population. The openly anti-Semitic daily, La Fronda, charges that the Jews are provoking new difficulties in Palestine and that if they continue along the present path “they will one day again find themselves in crematoriums.”
