The Argentine Chamber of Deputies, acting on motion proposed by the Peronist bloc, rose to pay tribute today to Israel en the occasion of the new state’s acceptance by the United Nations as a full-fledged member.
A spokesman for the pro-government group noted the creation of the Jewish state as following on the heels of the Jewish people’s wartime suffering. The Radical deputies, who form the major opposition group to the government party, joined in the tribute to Israel.
