Dr. Vicente Sierra, public health officer of Buenos Aires, has agreed to permit Jewish butchers to practice ritual slaughter, following a protest by a delegation from the DAIA, central representative organization of Argentine Jewry. Earlier, the city’s public health department had issued a decree prohibiting slaughtering except in municipal abattoirs.
