Argentine Jewish leaders do not want the Buenos Aires provincial police force to investigate Sunday’s desecration of a Jewish cemetery because members of the force have been linked to past anti-Semitic attacks. Citing “suspicions about the force,” Jewish leader Rogelio Cichowolsky was quoted as saying that the community was “going to try to ensure the investigation is carried out by a different force.” His comments came after vandals smashed more than 60 tombstones at the La Tablada cemetery on the eve of Yom Kippur.
