The Daia, central representative body of Argentine Jewry, today called on Pedro B. Arriola, chief of police of Rosario, Argentina’s second largest city, to take steps to apprehend the criminals responsible for the planting of a time bomb in the entrance to the Rosario synagogue.
The bomb was discovered last week and immediately rendered harmless by the police. The Daia also asked the police chief to guard against a repetition of the incident. This is the first direct attack on a synagogue in recent years, although such crimes were fairly frequent before the war.
Meanwhile, local fascists have painted over a street sign in Rosario on a street recently renamed in honor of the state of Israel.
