The DAIA, central representative body of Argentine Jewry, today called the attention of Dr. Julio Cesar Avanza, Minister of Education for the Province of Buenos Aires, to a textbook used in his schools which contains anti-Semitic material, in contravention of the Argentine Constitution which forbids racial discrimination.

In a letter signed by Drs. Ricardo Dubrovsky, president and Benjamin Rinsky, secretary, of the DAIA, a number of examples from the book, authored by Edgard Pierotti, are cited and the Minister is requested to order the withdrawal of the textbook. One of the instances cited is a definition by the author of Jewry as the community of Israelites who still hope for the Massiah and therefore fight against Christian nations.”

Dr. Abraham Mibashan, Argentine Zionist leader, left today for Panama where he will conduct the drive for the United Israel Appeal. He will proceed from there to Israel to attend the World Zionist Congress which is scheduled to open in Jerusalem on August 14.
