The first Congress of Jewish sports organizations in Argentine is scheduled to open here Sunday.
The Congress will last two days, and is being sponsored by the twelve Jewish Maccabbi clubs in Argentine, which are affiliated with the International Maccabi Organization.
The leading Argentine Maccabbi group is established in Buenos Aires. It has more than 1,000 members and is prominent in the local sports world. This club has already won a number of honors in contests with non-Jewish sports groups. It has achieved special distinction in the boxing field, and this year won the silver cup for amateur boxing.
The sports groups of all Jewish youth organizations in the Argentine have been invited to participate in the Congress, the main function of which will be to develop a unified program of sport and physical culture for the Jewish youth in Argentine.
