Argentine naval and merchant marine officials joined today in a send-off ceremony for the S.S. “Ro San Juan,” chartered by the Argentine-Palestine Economic Corporation, which will sail for Israel within a few days with a 2,000-ton cargo of frozen meat.
The vessel’s cargo was prepared under the supervision of local rabbis. The Argentine-Palestine Economic Corporation is preparing to send additional shipments of meat to Israel, but is meeting with difficulties because of the lack of Shochtim. (kosher slaughterers) in Argentina.
