Ariel Sharon condemned the destruction of Palestinians’ olive trees by Israeli settlers in the West Bank. After more than 1,000 trees were cut down, the Israeli prime minister issued a statement last Friday saying he viewed the actions “with utmost gravity,” and had ordered security forces to take all necessary measures to apprehend those responsible.
