Ariel Sharon hinted that some Jewish settlements could be evacuated regardless of peacemaking progress with the Palestinians. “Israel may move settlements that are across the Green Line for security without any connection to negotiations,” Israel Radio quoted Sharon as telling the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Tuesday, without providing details.
