Ariel Sharon said his plan to withdraw from the Gaza Strip does not preclude future peace talks with the Palestinians. “The disengagement plan does not come in place of negotiations,” the Israeli prime minister said Monday in a Knesset address ahead of a ratification vote Tuesday on his plan for all Gaza settlements and four in the West Bank to be removed next year.
