Ariel Sharon sought the endorsement of 13 Likud Cabinet members for his plan for Israeli disengagement from the Palestinians. Sunday morning’s meeting came as the Israeli prime minster prepared for a visit to Washington to present his disengagement plan to U.S. President Bush. Backing by the Likud Party is important for Sharon’s credibility.
