The World Mizrachi Conference opened here yesterday with hundreds of delegates present, including one hundred rabbis from various countries throughout the world. Thousands of visitors are present to view the deliberations of the Orthodox Zionists of the world.
Representatives of the state, the municipality, the Jewish Kehillah of Krakau and the French and Czech consuls greeted the conference. Telegrams of greeting were sent by the conference to President Moscicki of Poland and to Marshall Josef Pilsudski. A cable of greeting from Chief Rabbi Kook of Palestine was read.
In his opening speech, Rabbi Meyer Berlin, president of the World Mizrachi Organization, eulogized the late Dr. Chaim Arlosoroff and mourned his untimely death.
The World Mizrachi Conference is one of a series of preliminary conferences being held by the various Zionist groups in order to clarify their views on the issues facing the World Zionist Congress, which is to meet in Prague later in the month.
