Military and civil judicial authorities today began an exhaustive study of incriminating documents seized in raids throughout the country in the homes of agitators of the pro-Fascist iron Guard.
the judges examining the bulky documentation, which was officially said to include “particularly serious papers,” were under orders to make a report as quickly as possible.
In addition to the incriminating papers, a series of raids brought the arrest of 1,500 persons, some of whom were jailed pending trial.
Corneliu Zelea Codreanu, who yesterday was sentenced to a 6-month jail term for slander, faces the possibility of a new trial, with his principal lieutenants, on a charge of conspiring against the Government. Other will be charged with possessing arms and explosives and distributing inflammatory pamphlets.
