An exhibition by the Panamanian painter, Adriano Herrerabarria, will open tonight at the art gallery of the Jewish Agency, under the auspices of the United Nations Delegation of Panama and the Israel-Ibero American Cultural Institute. It will continue through November 7th. The exhibition, which will be officially inaugurated by Panama’s President Demetrio B. Lakas, is part of a cultural exchange program between Israel and Latin America. Mr. Herrerabarria’s art, according to critics, expresses the anguish of man, estranged and in despair, capitulating to the destructive forces harbored within his soul. Since 1948, when the Latin-American nations played an important role in the creation of the State of Israel, the Israel-Ibero American Institute has been active in developing cultural exchange activities between Latin-American, Israeli, Jewish and non-Jewish artists and intellectuals by offering a meeting place to the various nationalities and cultures.
