Arthur Miller, the American-Jewish playwright, was elected this weekend as president of P. E. N., the international writers association, at the organization’s congress in Bled, Yugoslavia. Mr. Miller was named to the post unanimously after the French delegation withdrew its candidate in the first contested election in the organization’s history. He will serve for a three-year term.
