The “Aryan Paragraph” against Jews was for the first time applied in Hungary when the textile concern Baumwoll-Textilewerke A.-G., a German-owned enterprise, suddenly dismissed all its non-“Aryan” employes this week.
All points in the contracts governing compensation and payment of salary in lieu of notice were strictly observed. The firm insisted that as Germans they do not want to employ anyone who is unable to produce proof of his “Aryan” origin.
