As a result of a week’s campaign for the United Palestine Appeal in Dayton the number of contributors was doubled. As against one hundred and fifty people who participated in last year’s effort to raise funds for Palestine, there were more than three hundred contributors this year. This year’s drive netted $7,500 as compared with $6,200 for last year.
The campaign was headed by Rabbi Samuel S. Mayerberg of the Temple Community House. Sam H. Thal was treasurer, and Dr. H. E. Pfeffer, executive head of the Dayton View Synagogue Center, secretary.
William Edlin, executive secreatary of the Keren Hayesod, was in charge of the drive, in which he was assisted by all the officers, including Mrs. Samuel Marmus, President of the Hadassah chapter, Miss Clara Lapinsky, President of Junior Hadassah; E. Mellman, Chairman of the Zionist District and Benjamin Duberstein, member of the Regional Committee.
