A conference of representatives of various charitable societies was held in Te Aviv to discuss the combination of all relief activities in that town. The number of people in Tel-Aviv who are in need of temporary relief is estimated at 20,000, including the unemployed. The Joint Distribution Committee of America has assigned £E1,000 per month for constructive loans, but a far greater grant-in-aid is needed, it was declared. The residents of Tel-Aviv contribute £1.000 to charitable institutions monthly.
The Conference decided to establish a united organization for relief and also to ask the Joint Distribution Committee for an increase in its monthly contribution.
