In connection with the opening session of the Czechoslovak State Council, the National Council of Jews of Czechoslovakia issued a statement today expressing deep regret that no representatives of the Jewish minority had been included in the State council. Stressing that the Jewish minority had participated for 20 years in the Republic’s development and consolidation, the statement voiced hope that the claim of the national Jews for representaion would be acceded to in the near future.
Two Jews were included in the council in a personal capacity. They are Dr. Julius Friedman, former head of the economic section of the Czech Foreign Ministry, and Dr. H.J. Stransky.
