A proposal made by the Jewish National Fund that the Jewish women of America raise $825,000 for the purchase of 8,250 acres of land in the vicinity of Haifa Bay, Palestine, will be recommended to the sixteenth annual convention of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, to be held at the Hotel Statler, Buffalo, N. Y., Oct. 26, 27 and 28.
Toward this sum will be applied $111,300, which the 50,000 members of senior and junior Hadassah raised during the past two years, it was announced by Miss Eudice Elkind, national chairman of the Jewish National Fund Council of Hadassah. The amount still to be raised is $713,700. The plan calls for the raising of this sum over a period of ten years, the increases in the annual quota to be graduated.
