Despite the assurances given by the Nazi authorities that no discrimination would be practiced against Jews in sport in connection with the 1936 Olympics games in Berlin, a campaign was started today to prevent admittance of Jews into German sports.
"A Jew should not have the right to take his athletic exercises in a German sports league," a syndicated Nazi article in a number of German papers urges. "It certainly must not happen again that German sports interests are represented by Jews, as happened previously in tennis, where Germany was represented by the Jew, Daniel Prenn."
