A formal request for the withdrawal of the charge of patricide against the Jewish student Philip Halsmann, whose second trial is now going on at Innsbruck, was presented to the Austrian Ministry of Justice by the counsel for the defense. The counsel submitted the latest evidence brought to the court which shook the basis of the accusation.
A communique issued by the Ministry stated that the district attorney was asked to submit a report on the trial for the purpose of reaching a decision. The counsel for defense expects a decision within the next three weeks.
