Assurance that the new Belgian aliens law would not apply to political refugees or victims of racial persecution was given by Justice Minister Soudan at a meeting of the Socialist parliamentary group. The aliens laws should affect only undesirable aliens whose activities disturb internal peace and the country’s social order, he said.

It was announced that ordinary aliens would be interned in special camps, particularly at Merzplas by the Jewish refugee hostel, and would be kept separate from the internment camps of undesirable aliens.
