Mr. Stanley Baldwin, Lord President of the Council, and one of the leading members of the British Cabinet, reiterated in today’s House of Commons the assurance that the British Government was mindful of the safety of British subjects in Germany. The statement was in reply to a question by Colonel Josiah Wedgwood, who had asked what measures the British Government proposed to take for the protection of British citizens in Germany, especially Jews and Indians. The reference to Indians was occasioned by the arrest of two Indians in Berlin, charged with Communism by the German authorities.
