At a celebration nere marking the first anniversary of Israel’s independence, Aron Burztyn, Israeli consul in Berlin, declared that it was the aim, of the Israeli Government and people to make their state a country of progress and socialism and to work for peace. He also expressed gratitude to the United States and the Soviet Union for their assistance in the “Jewish fight for freedom.” Burztyn revealed that the emigration of Berlin Jews to Israel has averaged 100 a month.
