At least nine victims were killed in a double suicide bombing in the Israeli city of Ashdod. At least 16 people were wounded in the attacks at the southern Israeli port city. Hamas and the Al-Aksa Brigade, which is the terrorist wing of Yasser Arafat’s Fatah movement, claimed responsibility for the blasts. After the attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon canceled a meeting with Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei, which had been expected to take place this week.
