Supported by every Jewish organization in Atlantic City, the annual campaign of the Federation of Jewish Charities opened last night with a large rally of campaign workers at the Jewish Community Center. The goal of this year’s drive is $30,000.
The principal speakers were Mayor Harry Bacharach of Atlantic City, Dr. Jacob Billikopf, the Executive Director of the Federation of Jewish Charities of Philadelphia and Dr. Philip R. Goldstein, the Campaign Director of the National Jewish Welfare Board of New York City, in charge of the local drive. The local Rabbis also spoke. City Solicitor Joseph B. Perskie presided. Max E. Blatt is the chairman of the campaign.
