Fifty representatives of eighteen Jewish organizations in Atlantic City, meeting here Wednesday night, formed a Council of Organizations to aid the Jewish National Fund.
The gathering fulfilled the purpose of sponsoriing the Atlantic City quota for the tribute to Menahem Mendel Ussishkin, grand old man of the Zionist movement.
Rabbi B. Reuben Weilerstein of the Community Synagogue opened the session. Dr. Benjamin L. Gordon gave personal reminiscences of Ussishkin. Rabbi Moshe Shapiro of Congregation Rodeph Sholom gave a vivid description of the Lag B’Omer celebration at Meron.
