The defeal of Austrian Jewry at the last elections for parliament because of party conflicts and unseemly strife of the verious elements of the Jewish population over every question of Jewish import, impelled Dr. Edmund Eahn, president of the Austrian B’nai B’ritb District to make an offort to seek a modus through which the Jewish community should act co##peracively, in all matters of immediate concern to the Jewish population of Austria, the headquarters of the B’nai B’rith here announces.At a conference of the Presidium of the Jewish Nationalist Party and the “Union of German-Austrian Jews” Dr. Hahn and Chief-Baubi Chajes developed a program for such cuoperative effort. Dr. Chajes pro## of a “Jewish Party” with two main purposes: to elect a larger number of Jews to all representative bodies and to endeavor to estublish a Jewish school-systen. Dr. Kahn proposed that there be created the organization of a ladge of “Friends of Palestine Reconstruation” to include members of both parties.
Details of the plan proposed, in principle, by Dr. Chajes will be submitted to another confernce which Dr. Kuhn will call early in the Fall.
