Attorney General William P. Rogers in an address here tonight deplored the synagogue bombings in the South but reiterated the Department of Justice position that the FBI cannot intervene.
Mr. Rogers expressed a view very similar to that advanced last week by Deputy Attorney general Lawrence E. Walsh in definition of policy. According to the Attorney General, there is no Federal statute under which the Department may act to enter the case.
