The Jewish attorney, Chimchi Effendi, will leave for Angora to represent the thousands of homeless Jewish refugees expelled from Turkish Thrace and the Dardanelles region through a misapplication of the new Turkish residence zoning law, it was learned yesterday.
He will seek government aid in restoring their homes to the refugees and reimbursement of the losses they incurred in having to quit the cities in which they had lived on twenty-four hour notice.
Two district governors have been removed from their posts by the national government for issuing the expulsion orders in their regions.
At the command of the government policemen have been specially assigned in all towns and villages where the expulsions occurred to guard the deserted homes and shops of the refugees to prevent thieving and plundering.
