Rabbi D. I. Freedman of Perth, West Australia, has been appointed Australian delegate to the League of Nations Council session in September and to the League Assembly sessions which are also to be held in September. This appointment is considered especially significant and of particular importance in view of the fact that the situation of the Jews in Germany is bound to arise.
Rabbi Freedman plays a prominent part in the communal life of West Australia and is widely known for his varied interests. He is a member of the senate of the University of West Australia.
