Australian Prime Minister Joseph B. Chifley today promised to study proposals for inclusion of minority protection clauses in peace treaties with former enemy countries proposed to him by Dr. Maurice Perlzweig, head of the political department of the World Jewish Congress.

Dr. Perlzweig, who was received by the Prime Minister, asked that Australia sponsor clauses that would protect the economic, political, and religious rights of Jews in Europe. Mr. Chifley said that the government would convey its decision to Herbert Evatt, head of Australia’s delegation to the July 29th Paris Peace Conference.
