The Austrian Government decided yesterday to advance to the Vienna Jewish Community the sum of 5,000,000 schillings on account of heirless Jewish property in Austria, the Paris office of the American Jewish Committee announced today.
This is the first successful achievement in the efforts of the A.J.C. and other Jewish organizations to have the Austrian Government recognize the principle that a separate fund be set up to handle heirless Jewish property for the rehabilitation of Jewish survivors in that country.
