Dr. Egon Berger-Waldenegg, Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs, at a press conference today, declared that during his visit to London last week he informed British statesmen that “the cultural and religious national minorities in Austria are enjoying complete freedom.”

“I was able to make this statement while in London,” the Minister stated, “because all we demand from our national minorities is that they adjust themselves as a part of our state. We have no use for such minorities who oppose the state.”

The Minister concluded his statement at the press conference by saying that “Austria is giving an example of a model system for the protection of national minorities.” Those minorities who will properly adjust themselves to the country will have no ground for complaints, he emphasized.
