Austria Completes Program of Abrogating Penalties Imposed on Nazis

The Austrian Government has completed the task of abrogating penalties imposed on active members of the Nazi Party in the Vienna area, it was disclosed today. Acting under amnesty legislation, the authorities completed a check of the cases of 15, 000 convicted Nazis here. Of this total, 6, 000 were completely rehabilitated and penalties imposed on them were annulled.

Former Nazis sentenced to prison terms of less than five years had their records wiped clean and the confiscation of their property was rescinded.
