The Austrian government has enacted a measure controlling the first names of children and specifically prohibiting the naming of a child “Hitler,” says a special correspondence to the “New York Times.”

The purpose of the decree is to prevent the naming of children in such fashion as to offend public morality or good order, says the decree.
