Professor Otto Jukelik, the Austrian citizen arrested with an Israeli at Basle recently on charges of having “threatened” a German scientist employed on Egypt’s program for development of non-conventional weapons against Israel, has been registered officially in this country as a “counselor” for the Egyptian Government, federal police disclosed here today.
It was announced here today that Prof. Jukelik was visited in jail by the Austrian Consul-General at Basle, after Switzerland formally notified the Austrian Embassy of the man’s arrest. Police here said that Prof, Jukelik “never had any conflict with the law.” His home is in Grossgmein, a village near Salzburg, where his wife works.
